Tour in Yangon: Waste management and cleanliness efforts in Yangon

Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and officials inspected waste segregation and cleanliness efforts at local markets and roads on June 14. At Htaut Kyant Yadanar Market in Mingaladon Township, the Chief Minister and party inspected the placement of color-coded bins for separating dry, wet, hazardous, and plastic waste.

Officials explained current practices, and the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of minimizing environmental harm by encouraging proper waste segregation. They also visited Yadanar Thiri Market, inspecting similar setups and meeting with vendors.

Later, the Chief Minister and party observed the sanitation and drainage maintenance along No. 4 Main Road in Shwepyitha Township. The Chief Minister gave instructions to improve cleanliness and waste management efforts at the township level.
