Tour in Sittwe: Disaster management and warehouses inspection

Training course on clarifying the format for natural disaster damage inventory collection was opened at Khine Thazin Hall in Sittwe on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister clarified the purpose of the training which is to secure timely inventory management and review process, swift reports to National Disaster Management Committee as well as the comprehension of staff and officers on inventory collection format to ensure systematic data compilation.  Then, explanations were made on sectors of inventory collection format and the assigned departments.

Later, the Chief Minister presided over a work coordination meeting of Rakhine State Disaster Management Committee at state government office.

At the meeting, the Chief Minister elaborated on capacity enhancement of the main driving force of disaster management mechanism; public, civil servants, Tatmadawmen and social organizations.

Next, clarifications were made on current work implementations of state disaster management sub committees and advanced preparations for potential disasters. Upon clarifications, the Chief Minister coordinated necessities and concluded the meeting.

On 28th May, the Chief Minister and officials visited Myanma Port Authority warehouse and Marine Administration Department warehouses in Sittwe Township. They inspected the warehouses, and the storage condition. They also inspected the warehouses at Sittwe Shipyard and condition of speedboats at Marine Administration Department Port.
