Tour in Shan State: MOTC Union Minister makes inspection

Member of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo, accompanied by Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung and departmental officials made inspection in Taunggyi of Shan State.

On May 7, the Union Minister and party arrived at Road Transport Administration Department (Taunggyi), met with the officials and staff, instructed for collaboration of departments under the ministry for successful implementation of the tasks and provided foodstuff and cash assistance to the staff. On the 8, the Union Minister and party visited Htin Thein railway station on Taunggyi-Paw Mu Railway Section to oversee the working process of the station.

There, the Union Minister heard the reports on completion of renovation process and future plans. Upon reports, the Union Minister instructed for timely completion of the current working process, ensuring work place safety.

The Union Minister and party later proceeded to Kalaw Station and inspected a special steamed locomotive that will be operated on Kalaw-Shwe Nyaung Railway section with the aims to provide scenic landscape to the passengers.

During the meeting with the staff, the Union Minister instructed for preservation of the station for long term durability along with the cleaning and greening process to attract domestic and international visitors. At Bawa Thanthaya bridge, the Union Minister and party inspected the durability of the bridge and gave necessary instructions.

During their arrival at Thasi Railway Station, the Union Minister and party inspected the cleaning of debris and plans for reconstruction of damaged part of the station due to severe Mandalay earthquake. He also met with the quake-affected staff and provided foodstuff and cash assistance.

On the 9th, the Union Minister and party proceeded Central Institute of Transport and Communications (Meiktila), met with the quake-affected staff, provided foodstuff and cash assistance and toured around the agriculture and livestock breeding process.
