Tour in Sagaing: Rehabilitation efforts in Sagaing Region

Member of the State Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Admiral Tin Aung San on 8th May visited Sagaing University of Education and met with the professors, faculty members and students.

During the meeting, he presented cash assistance and notebooks for the students. The Admiral also inspected the kitchen and instructed to ensure healthy food for the students.

He later proceeded to Sun U Ponnya Shin Pagoda and inspected the clearing of debris. He also paid homage to Sitagu Sayadaw Bhaddanta Nyanissara and made cash donation.  The Admiral later met with temporarily displaced people in Sagaing Region due to terrorist attacks, and presented over 3.8 billion kyat cash assistance of the National Disaster Management Fund.

In the afternoon, Admiral Tin Aung San inspected the purified drinking water distribution through the river water pumping project of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development and the Myanmar Red Cross Society on the strand road of the Ayeyawady River. On arrival at Sagaing Bridge, they observed the clearing of debris and inspected the strength of mid-water pillars.
