






During his stay in Brunei, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn visited the construction site of new building for Myanmar Embassy on Thursday.
The Charge`de affaire ad Interim of the embassy explained the salient points of the new embassy. The Union Minister, accompanied by the Deputy Secretary General of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community, later proceeded to the Myanmar Embassy in Brunei and met with the officials, presenting foodstuff and gifts.
Earlier in the day, the Union Minister, together with the delegations to the 17th AMRI took a cruise tour along Brunei River. During the cruise ride, they enjoyed the scenic beauties of Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Bridge, Kampong Ayer Water Village Settlement, Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, Jong Batu Rocky Island, Mangrove Garden, Brunei Water Fountain, Cultural and Handicraft Training Centre and Brunei Technology Museum.
The 17th ASEAN Ministers Responsible for Information meetings and Plus Three Meetings have been held every two years, aiming to lay down the guidance in implementing the information and media tasks in ASEAN region through mutual understanding and trust. Myanmar hosted the 12th ASEAN Ministers Responsible for Information meetings in Nay Pyi Taw in 2014.
