Tour in Bangkok : President pays homage to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha

President U Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by a high-level Myanmar delegation, paid homage to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha during his official visit to the Kingdom of Thailand on Friday.

The delegation visited the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew), situated within the grounds of the Grand Palace in Bangkok, where they paid respects to the country's most revered Buddhist image and observed the temple's magnificent architecture and religious heritage.

Widely regarded as Thailand's most sacred Buddhist temple, Wat Phra Kaew was established in 1782 during the reign of King Rama I, the founder of the Chakri Dynasty. The temple serves as the spiritual center of Thai Buddhism and is reserved exclusively for royal and state religious ceremonies.

The temple complex is renowned for its exquisite Thai craftsmanship, featuring gilded stupas, intricately decorated halls, colorful mosaic designs, and murals depicting scenes from the Ramakien, Thailand's national epic. Together with the adjacent Grand Palace, the site remains one of Thailand's most significant religious, historical, and cultural landmarks, attracting millions of pilgrims and visitors annually.
