Tour in Ayeyawady Region: Rural development and providing relief supplies

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Myo Zaw Thein, together with officials, visited rural communities in Ayeyawady Region on Thursday to discuss agricultural development and provide assistance to flood-affected residents.

In Ingala Village of Danubyu Township, the Union Minister met with cooperative members, farmers and local residents, and discussed matters on promoting systematic farming through cooperation among private businesses, farmers and cooperatives. The Union Minister said collective farming could help reduce production costs and pledged coordination to ensure timely access to quality seeds, fertilizers and irrigation water.

Later, the Union Minister and party visited Hinthada Township General Administration Department, where relief supplies were provided for flood-affected people from Hinthada and Laymyethna Townships. The Union Minister urged officials to prepare for the recovery phase after floodwaters recede, including the rehabilitation of roads, bridges, basic infrastructure and local livelihoods. The Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development donated 10 million kyats, personal hygiene supplies and water purification machines through the Ayeyawady Region Government.
