Top UN official visits Ethiopia refugee inclusion project

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi on Friday visited two Ethiopia's refugee settlement to evaluate the country's pioneering "Makatet Roadmap". Launched by the Ethiopian government, the Makatet Roadmap is designed to shift away from long-term, isolated camp dependencies.

It acts as a comprehensive, nationally driven framework that seamlessly weaves refugee socio-economic inclusion into the nation's broader development planning. The High Commissioner met with top Ethiopian officials to ensure the integration goals of the Makatet Roadmap are successfully executed.
