Thousands celebrate return of Rome Gay Pride event

Thousands of people gathered in the centre of Rome on Saturday to celebrate the return of the "Rome Gay Pride" in the streets of the Italian capital after the COVID lockdown.

LGBTQIA+ activists filled the Roman streets with colors and music in the parade from Republic Square, in front of the Termini railway station, to reach Venice Square.

Pride participants demonstrated not only for the right to choose whichever sexuality without being discriminated, but also for the right to not being discriminated because of the color of their skin or because of different religious beliefs.
