Terrorists tried to plant mines: 2 terrorists died of explosion of their own mines

Terrorists have been using explosive devices to harm peacefully residing civilians and administrative officials working for law and order.

They are targeting public highways, railways, government offices, and residential areas by planting explosives and using remote detonation.On October 27, 2024, at around 6:30 a.m., near Basic Education Primary School No. 30 on Padamya Road, Ward 62, Dagon Myothit (South) Township, Yangon Region, two men were found injured from an explosion.

Security forces responded to the incident, where Pho La Pyae (29) from Ward 78, Dagon Seikkan, and Paing Min Htet (20) from Ward 94 were found with injuries from a mine explosion. They were taken to No. (1) 1000-bed Military Hospital for treatment and monitoring.According to further investigation, at around 4:30 a.m. that day, Pho La Pyae, Paing Min Htet, and Aung Naing Htun (also known as) "Kayin" had taken a white Toyota Corolla (license plate YGN AA-4000) driven by Ngway Soe (40) to plant explosives near the administrative office of Ward 94.

However, one of the homemade mines they were carrying on the vehicle exploded close to the target location. As a result, Pho La Pyae and Paing Min Htet sustained injuries from the explosion, while Aung Naing Htun managed to flee.

Ngway Soe later drove both injured men to the vicinity of Basic Education Primary School No. 30, where he left them.Based on information provided by the injured suspects, security forces apprehended driver Ngway Soe near the intersection of Pyidaungsu Road and Maygawadi Road in Dagon Myothit (South) Township.

Upon inspecting his white taxi, authorities discovered another homemade mine constructed from iron pipe which was safely defused.Of the three suspects, Pho La Pyae and Paing Min Htet succumbed to their injuries during treatment. Legal action is being pursued against Ngway Soe in accordance with the law, and security forces continue searching for the remaining suspect, Aung Naing Htun (aka) Kayin, who remains at large.
