Terrorist Acts: Explosion in Kawkareik and Abduction in Ma Hlaing

Terrorists are deliberately initiating attacks on residential areas, launching heavy weapons, short range missiles and drop bombs. On 10th June, a terrorist group launched heavy weapon attack in Paing Yat Village, Kawkareik Township of Kayin State and caused explosion at a household which was providing as temporarily school for Paing Yat Basic Education Middle School students.

Due to the explosion, a 36-year old female staff and 3 students were killed. Likewise, a volunteer teacher and 18 students were injured and transferred to Kanyin Kataik village clinic and Mawlamyaing People’s hospital for medical treatment.

Likewise on 11th June in Mandalay region, about 20 PDF terrorists with a 4WD vehicle and 5 motorcycles shot 47-year old U Zaw Myo Thet @ Ko Thet who was at his Betel Nut Shop near Shwe Mote Daw Pagoda in Ma Hlaing Township. U Zaw Myo Thet @ Ko Thet was killed at the scene due to injury.

The terrorists also abducted 2 civilians and 1 civil servant and retreated to Than Bo-Than Tan Village in Taung Tha Township. Necessary measures are carried out to rescue the two abductees, in accordance with the security procedures.

The local residents who can’t stand the inhuman act of the terrorists strongly condemned the terror activities of terrorists which torment the lives and properties of the innocent civilians.  Moreover, the security forces are expediting the necessary security measures in collaboration with the local residents.
