The farmers in Kywe Pon Village of Sagaing Township were attacked while they were traveling to work on their farms by the terrorists of so-called PDF. The attackers, who were armed with heavy and small weapons, fired at the villagers without reason, resulting in the deaths of 12 women and injuries to 3 others.

The incident occurred this morning when local villagers, who were peacefully going about their daily activities, were enroute by vehicle to their farms. At about 1,300 meters north of the village, armed insurgent PDF terrorists, who had no support from the villagers, viciously attacked them with heavy and small arms, leading to the fatalities and injuries.

The injured individuals were transported to the People’s Hospital in Sagaing by security forces to receive necessary medical care. The security measures are being carried out to track down the insurgents.

The insurgent groups like NUG and CRPH affiliated so-called PDF, have been engaging in acts of violence in the regions and states, including capturing and killing civilians who do not support them, threatening and oppressing people, burning down towns and villages, and attacking with heavy weapons and drones.

In April 2023, the PDF also attacked Kywe Pon Village with bombs, resulting in the deaths of 8 people including 5 innocent children, and injuries to 31 others. Similarly, on the morning of September 16, in Khayutoke Village of Myittha Township, Mandalay Region, a monk was attacked by PDF insurgents while traveling to Kume Township.

The insurgents, armed with small weapons, looted a motorcycle, phone, and money. Sayadaw Baddanta Kovida was killed due to the injuries sustained, and a male motorcyclist escorting him was also injured. Additionally, in Hmankin Village of Hsin Paungwe

Township, Magway Region, a woman was killed by PDF insurgents who attacked her with small arms while she was at home. The actions of those insurgents against peaceful and hardworking civilians including monks constitute war crimes. Local communities are increasingly rejecting and condemning these violent acts, and there is widespread disapproval of the insurgents' actions. As a result, the military's counter-terrorism operations against these insurgents are receiving increased support from the public.
