A tax education seminar related to the departmental tender-based operations was held at the Mon State Government Office in Mawlamyine on May 6. The event was attended by Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, the Chief Justice of the State High Court, members of the State Government, and departmental officials.

At the beginning of the seminar, Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein stated that when carrying out government construction projects, procurement of goods and services, service provision, and purchases of vehicles, machinery, and furniture using public funds, it is essential to follow the tender system. He emphasized that it is important for departments to understand the tax-related regulations and procedures applicable to the tender system, which is the purpose of holding the tax education seminar.

Following this, the Head of the State Tax Office presented a PowerPoint presentation titled "Tax Liabilities for Successful Tender Projects," providing key tax knowledge. Attendees from various departments asked questions to gain further understanding, and relevant officials responded and provided clarifications.

The seminar continued with the screening of a video clip under the theme "Success Comes with Public Participation," which showed the use of receipt number stamps at restaurants for collecting commercial tax. The Chief Minister and attending officials watched and supported the initiative. The Head of the State Tax Office further explained and elaborated on necessary points following the video. Finally, the Chief Minister and officials warmly greeted and engaged with the participants.
