Japan's Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki said the government was "closely monitoring" how the declining yen affects the nation "with a sense of urgency".

The Japanese yen plunged to 132.33 per dollar - its weakest level in over 20 years. Suzuki did not comment on the fall as his remark could affect the currency rate but said the government will address it, including communicating with U.S. authorities.
