

Hundreds of Pakistan’sruling party supporters rallied in capital Islamabad on Monday to show support for Prime Minister Imran Khan as he seeks to stay in power.
Earlier in the day Pakistan's top court began hearing arguments on whether Khan and his allies had the legal right to dissolve parliament and set the stage for early elections.The opposition is challenging the latest moves by Khan, a former cricketer who came to power in 2018, contending they were a ploy to avoid a no-confidence motion.On Sunday, Imran Khan's ally and Pakistan's deputy parliament speakerdissolved the assembly to sidestep a no-confidence vote that Khan appeared certain to lose.The opposition claims the deputy speaker had no constitutional authority to throw out the motion.
