Myanmar secured four gold medals at the 85th Singapore Open Track and Field Championships, with victories in the women’s shot put, men’s 1,000-metre walk, women’s 10,000-metre walk and men’s 800-metre race. A ceremony to honor the gold medal-winning Myanmar Track and Field Team was held at Kyikekasan Stadium in Yangon on 8th April, in conjunction with the dinner reception.

Chairman of the Myanmar Olympic Committee Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung attended the ceremony and made a speech. He urged the athletes to train with determination to achieve success in the upcoming Southeast Asian Games, noting increased government support for sports development.

He instructed the Myanmar Athletics Federation and coaches to strive for the best in future international competitions. Then, the Chairman of the Myanmar Athletics Federation delivered a congratulatory speech, and the Union Minister presented certificates of appreciation, in recognition of contributions made since 2024.

The General Secretary of the Federation shared his experiences from the 85th Singapore Open Track and Field Championships through a video presentation. Cash prizes were then awarded to the gold medalists, followed by a word of thanks from one of the winners.
