







At the invitation of the Haikon Integrated Free Trade Zone Committee in Haikou, Hainan Province, a Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, Dr. Kan Zaw, set out on a study visit to the Haikon Integrated Free Trade Zone in the People's Republic of China from June 1 to 3.
The Myanmar delegation arrived in Haikon on June 1, after traveling via Kunming, China. During the visit on the morning of June 2, the Union Minister and the delegation toured various key locations within the Haikon Integrated Free Trade Zone, including an electronic commerce industrial park, modern agricultural and food production factories, jewelry manufacturing factories, high-standard diamond and gemstone processing facilities, and logistics and business operation centers.
In the afternoon, the Myanmar delegation, led by the Union Minister, held discussions with the Haikon Free Trade Zone Committee on advancing technological enhancements for the gemstone industry, as well as increasing trade, investment, and economic cooperation.
Later in the evening, the delegation visited duty-free retail outlets (China Duty Free Shop), the Haikon International Convention Center, and museums in Hainan. On the morning of June 3, the Union Minister and delegation met with Mr. Fan Shaojun, a standing committee member of the Hainan Provincial Party and secretary of the Haikon municipal party committee, at the Grand Hotel Haikon to exchange views.
In the afternoon, the Union Minister attended and delivered a speech at the Haikon-Myanmar Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Meeting held at the Grand Hotel Haikon. Following the conclusion of the meeting, the Myanmar delegation departed from Haikon International Airport for Myanmar, transiting through Bangkok, Thailand, before arriving in Yangon on the evening of June 3.
