The recently stolen skull of Saint Zdislava was returned on Saturday to the basilica in Czech Republic during the Zdislava Pilgrimage and Mass. A packed basilica witnessed the handover to church representatives. Several hundred people attended the main service, including police officers who played a key role in recovering the precious relic.

Restorer presented the rescued relic of the saint, placed on a tray, to Archbishop, who presided over the main pilgrimage service. The saint’s skull had been on display in the cathedral for nearly 120 years in a reliquary on the side altar above the crypt containing her tomb. The thief stole the priceless relic from the altar on May 12 before the evening service.
