Steel Industry: Senior General Inspects No. 1 Steel Mill (Myingyan)

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing on Monday inspected the No. 1 Steel Mill (Myingyan).

During the inspection, the Senior General heard reports on matters including plans of the Mill, import and production of steel items, consumption, future plans, railway upgrade projects and 230 KVA Myingyan Steel Mill. In his response, the Senior General stressed the need to accelerate the deformed bar production and efforts for more steel mills building in the country and maintenance.

He also urged the concerned ministry to start the operation of the No. 1 Steel Mill and allow the private sector to take part in home-use steel parts production in line with the rules and regulations. The Senior General also urged the concerned officials to promote the private steel production sector.

Regarding the railway construction and upgrade projects, the Senior General stressed systematic work processes. Also, regarding the steel products production, he called for efforts to reduce imports. There, the Senior General signed in the guests’ book, inspected the Melt Shop 2 and gave necessary instructions.
