Sports Sector: Volleyball Championship and sports facilities

The Shan State women’s team  and the Mandalay Region men’s team won first place in the 2026 Under-25 Regional and State Volleyball Championship held in Taunggyi on Friday.

Chairman of the Myanmar Olympics Committee Union Minister for Sports U Ye Myint Tun attended the finals and award ceremony, where both winning teams received trophies and cash prizes. The Mandalay women’s team and Mon State men’s team finished as runners-up.

After the event, the Union Minister inspected training activities and facilities at the Sports and Physical Education Institute in Taunggyi. He also visited sports facilities in Shwe Nyaung and instructed officials to improve maintenance, develop young athletes, and strengthen sports programs to raise the standard of sports in Shan State.
