







Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung visited the National Swimming Pool on U Wisara Road, Dagon Township, Yangon on 6th March.
During the visit, the Union Minister observed the repair works of the water filtration plant with a budget of 241 million Kyats, in the 2024-2025 fiscal year. He also observed the preparations for conducting summer swimming courses and provided the necessary instructions. He later inspected the preparation measure for opening of the Gym Hall of Myanmar Woman Sports Federation.
He also encouraged the trainees participating in the summer sports camp, which was organized by the Myanmar Judo Federation and the Myanmar Table Tennis Federation. The Union Minister also met with the Deputy Chairmen and executives of Myanmar Swimming Federation and discussed the measures for achieving success in the upcomont 33rd SEA Games.
Afterwards, the Union Minister visited the synthetic grass football field in Bahan Township and the Salin football ground in Kyimyindaing Township, where he assessed the maintenance measures of the stadiums and preparation for renovation of bleachers.
At the National Sport Stadium (1) in Thuwanna, the Union Minister met with the Chairmen, Vice-Chairmen and secretaries of the Cycling, E-Sports and Traditional Sports Federations. During the meeting, the Union Minister called for collaboration among the sports federations in raising the standard of Myanmar's sports.
He highlighted that the 33rd SEA Games is going to be hosted by Thailand, and emphasized the need for strategic management in areas such as athlete selection, training, and competition preparation to achieve success.
The responsible officials reported on the various matters related to their respective teams' preparation for participation in the 33rd SEA Games including current training conditions, short-term and long-term plans, necessary actions to ensure success in the competition, issues related to the timely delivery of equipment needed for participation.
