Sports and Youth development: Competition for weightlifting final selection held

A trial weight lifting competition of preliminary selection weight lifters as per the weight categories to select the final selection for 2023 32nd SEA Games to be hosted by Cambodia was held at the weightlifting arena in Wunnatheiddi stadium in the morning on February 24 with the attendance of the Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan, Deputy Minister U Myo Hlaing and senior officials.

Next, the Union Minister U Min Thein Zan attended the meeting of giving guidance to the officers and staff members from the Minister’s Office and the Department of Sports and Physical Education at the Wunnatheiddi Stadium (B), Nay Pyi Taw.

In his speech of guidance, the Union Minister stressed the need to put collective effort for the development of sport field, the patriotic spirit should be treasured. Only in the possession of good health, the assigned duties will be able to serve to be achieved. As the personnel served under the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, the uplifting of sport standard of the country and achieving successes in the South East Asia Region should be strived. The improvement of the role of the youth needs to be carried out. The law, rules and regulations and codes of conduct of the public service personnel should be complied with etc.

Next, the Union Minister inspected the re-flooring in stadium (A) and stadium (C) of Wunnatheiddi Stadium by Mani Kabar Company and Khant Tikyi Company and instructed for the long term durability, meeting with quality and standard and completing within a scheduled time, it’s learnt.
