Special Flight: 95 Myanmar Citizens In Germany Brought Back Home

In accordance with the directives of National-Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is coordinating with the Myanmar Embassies in respective countries and other relevant ministries in Myanmar for the repatriation of Myanmar nationals who are stranding in abroad to the home land.

On 4th June, 89 Myanmar seamen who were stuck on the AIDAperla and AIDAblu cruise ships that are docking at Hambat in Germany about two months and 6 Myanmar citizens who stranded in Germany, altogether 95 were brought back to Myanmar by the special flight arranged by AIDA Cruises company.

The special flight carrying 95 Myanmar citizens arrived at Yangon International Airport on Thursday morning.

On arrival at the Airport, the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, the Ministry of Health and Sports and the Yangon Region Government helped for their 21-day quarantine period at the designated places.

Due to the temporary suspension of international flights, Myanmar nationals who are facing difficulties in foreign countries are being brought back to home land by the relief and special flights.A total of 2,929 citizens have been taken back to Myanmar until now.
