Space Technology: Meeting with the Russia's Roscosmos delegation

General Director of Russia's Roscosmos Mr. Dmitry V. Bakanov on Wednesday, paid a courtesy call to President U Min Aung Hling who is on an official visit in Russia.

They discussed expanding cooperation in the space sector, including satellite technology, astronaut training, and satellite-based search and rescue systems. The two sides reviewed progress on Earth observation satellite imagery under an agreement between Russian Space Systems (RSS) and the Myanmar Space Agency.

They also discussed implementing projects involving COSPAS-SARSAT, One Way Station, ASPOS, the Rassvet low-orbit communications satellite system, and the development and launch of nanosatellites. They also discussed to support Myanmar’s space technology and human-resource development, as well as broader bilateral cooperation.
