South Korea, Japan, U.S. hold joint naval drills

South Korea, U.S. and Japan held a combined naval exercise in the East Sea on Monday. The navies of the allies participated in the missile defense drills to strengthen their ability to respond to escalating missile and nuclear threats by North Korea.

The United States and South Korea also launched drills Monday involving some 110 warplanes, including advanced F-35 fighter jets that will continue through April 28.
