

Social Welfare workers at Amarapura Township of Mandalay Region have been paid social security benefits on 1st June.
According to the Social Security Law (2012), Social Security Board paid 40% fund of monthly contributions only to those who provided social security fund.
In-Charge, Regional Social Security Board, Hnin Hnin Phyo said “In Mandalay region, about 466 organizations have registered at the Social Security Board and there are about 5,589 employers who contributed monthly social security fund. Although the offices were arranged to reopen after the Myanmar New Year Festival earlier, unfortunately, they were closed till the 30th April to prevent the spread of COVID-19 disease. Today, Regional Social Security Board provided compensations to the workers for days when they were told to close their jobs during COVID-19 period.”
Currently, Amarapura Social Security Board have paid 40% fund of monthly contributions worth over 5.7 million kyats to about 6 organizations, according to the Information and Public Relations Department.
