Mongolian authorities said on Wednesday the country successfully repatriated a rare Tarbosaurus bataar skeleton and 28 groups of fossilized dinosaur remains from the Gobi Desert.

Illegally exported two decades ago, these paleontological treasures were officially returned to Ulaanbaatar following extended legal and diplomatic efforts. The bones had been illegally taken from Mongolia in 2006 and confiscated by French authorities.
