Smart Electricity Meters Factory: MOEE UM visited and inspected the factory

The Ministry of Electricity and Energy is actively promoting comprehensive efforts to increase electricity generation capacity in the country, reduce electricity losses, and ensure a stable and continuous power supply system.

On the morning of July 20, Union Minister U Ko Ko Lwin, accompanied by U Aung Kyaw Oo, Chairman of the Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation (YESC), visited a factory in the Inntakaw Industrial Zone, Bago Region, where modern smart meters are being manufactured domestically.

At the factory, U Myo Aung, Managing Director of Ever Meter Co., Ltd., provided explanations on the production capabilities of modern smart electricity meters, the step-by-step manufacturing process, the integration with the AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) system, and the current status of exports to foreign countries.

The Union Minister discussed and provided necessary guidance, and inspected the digital meter production line within the factory. In the evening, the Union Minister visited the Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation (Head Office) and met with departmental officials, district and township-level electricity managers, township electrical engineers, and township finance officers.

He stated that technical measures will be used to inspect and monitor in order to prevent electricity losses and wastage, and urged the personnel to carry out their duties with the understanding that they are providing the public with the essential service of electricity. He emphasized the need to address consumers' needs through good customer service and to respond to public inquiries and reports through Call Centers with patience and understanding. The Chairman of YESC then presented plans to further improve and enhance electricity distribution services within Yangon Region and addressed the presentations made by the staff, it’s reported.
