Sharing Merits: Cash assistance for the bereaved families

A ceremony to provide assistance to the bereaved families of those who were killed during the earthquake was held on Sunday.

Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw attended the ceremony. Prior to the event, attendees observed a minute of silence as a remembrance to those affected victims. A total of 55 members of the Sangha, 52 nuns and 65 people were killed during the earthquake.

During the ceremony 172 million kyat cash assistance was provided for the bereaved families. The Lay Kyun May Oat Kyaung Sayadaw of Sagaing later shared merits for the deceased individuals.
