Shanghai to Reopen Dine-in Services

Shanghai will reopen dine-in services from Wednesday despite sporadic community COVID-19 infections popping up across the city.

Dine-in services will be restored in the sub districts and towns that have no medium-risk areas, and report zero community COVID-19 infections within a week.

The catering enterprises should register in district-level prevention and control office, and the dine-in service can be restarted only after inspection and evaluation.

The restaurants should limit the number of people dining indoor. For large and medium-sized restaurants with an operating area of more than 150 square meters, only 70% of the seats can be set in the lobby, and the space between tables must be more than one meter.

The number of diners in small restaurants shall be limited under 50% of the maximum capacity. Dine-in services at local restaurants have been suspended since the city initiated its massive COVID-19 lockdown and control measures in early April.
