Shan State Trip: Union Minister Provides Cash And Makes Inspections

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Thet Thet Khine met with Shan State Chief Minister Dr. Kyaw Tun and many other officials at the Shan State Government Office.  The meeting focused on the Ministry’s Maternal and Child Cash Transfer programme, social services, disaster management and rehabilitation.

After the meeting, the Union Minister provided over 4 billion Kyats for mothers and their children aged under 2 under the Maternal and Child Cash Transfer programme, over 200 million Kyats for social organizations in Shan State and over 100 million Kyats for rice from the budget of Disaster Management Department.

The Union Minister also visited Mogok Vipassana Yeiktha in Taunggyi, provided over 15 million Kyats for rice from the budget of Disaster Management Department and donated cash to the Yeiktha.  Also, at the Administration Office of the Pa-O Self-Administered Zone in Hopong Township, the Union Minister provided over 28 million Kyats for rice from the budget of Disaster Management Department.

The Union Minister also inspected the Taunggyi pre-primary school and gave necessary instructions. Also, she inspected the Social Welfare Department in Taunggyi and the Disaster Management Department and rescue equipment warehouse in AyeTharYar Township.
