Shan State Trip: Union Minister Provides Cash And Makes Inspections

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Thet Thet Khine visited Kalaw Township, paid homage to the Bamboo Strip Pagoda, donated robe and offertories to the Presiding Sayadaw and provided over 4.5 million Kyats from the budget of Disaster Management Department.

At the Administration Office of Danu Self-Administered Zone, the Union Minister held talks with the head of Zone. After the talks, the Union Minister provided the cash assistance of over 17 million Kyats for hail victims in Ywangan and Pindaya townships, and also over 1 million Kyats from the budget of Disaster Management Department.

The Union Minister also inspected construction of a store and an awareness center with the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund (2021).

The construction in the compound of Disaster Management Department in Pindaya Township is now 28 percent completed.  Also, she held a discussion with concerned officials to erect a fence for a pre-primary school in Pindaya and upgrade the structure of the school.

The Union Minister also visited the Rehabilitation Center (NamLat) in Taunggyi, heard reports on matters including plan for establishment of a youth development center, and inspected the completed construction of staff housing and many other buildings.
