Sepak Takraw Competition: SAC members attended the opening ceremony

The opening ceremony of 2024 Inter-Regions and States Sepak Takraw competition was held at Wunna Theidi Stadium (a) in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on Thursday.

The ceremony was attended by the members of State Administration Council Daw Dwe Bu, Porel Aung Thein, Dr. Hmu Htan, Dr. Ba Shwe, Khun San Lwin, U Shwe Kyein, U Yan Kyaw, Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers and departmental officials.

At the ceremony, Chairman of Myanmar Olympic Committee Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan gave an opening speech and opened the 2024 Inter-Regions and States Sepak Takraw competition.

Next, the SAC members, Union Minister U Min Thein Zan and officials cordially greeted the athletes from the contestant teams and watched the men dual group competition between Ayeyawady Region and Kayin State.

The competition will be taken part by 269 athletes, team administrators and coaches from 15 teams of men and 13 teams of women from 23rd to 31st of May at Wunna Theidi Stadium (a) in Nay Pyi Taw. The enthusiasts of Sepak Takraw can enjoy the matches in free of charge, it’s learnt.
