Agriculture & Livestock Sector: Deputy Minister makes inspections in Shan State

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Aung Gyi visited the Regional Research Center in Aungban Township of southern Shan State. During the visit, the Deputy Minister inspected soybean research and development activities, and coordinated with concerned officials for correct flow of seeds in the implementation of seed sufficiency and benefit of seed farmers.

There, he also inspected display of high-yield varieties of seeds suitable for the region and plantation, provided seeds to the farmers. In Kunlong Village-Tract of Taunggyi Township, the Deputy Minister inspected implementation of livestock zone and diary breeding and stressed the importance of biosecurity in the livestock zone.

And, he provided aid to livestock farmers. At the Shan Yoma Livestock Breeding Zone in Nyaungshwe Township, the Deputy Minister held talks with livestock farmers on livestock sector development, inspected breeding of broiler chickens and provided livestock tools and equipment.

Also, at the Shan State Government Office, the Deputy Minister held a meeting with Chief Minister U Aung Aung for matters including agriculture and livestock products export measures, production and export of high-quality coffee and tea products and oil crops plantation.
