Senior N.Korea official meets top-tier China leader to bolster ties

Kim Song Nam who is director of the international department of North Korea's ruling Workers' Party has met with a top-tier Chinese leader Wang Huning and expressed the strong desire to bolster ties in Beijing on Thursday.

Wang said Beijing is willing to work with Pyongyang to strengthen strategic communication and jointly work for a peaceful and stable external environment. Kim responded that ties between the two countries open a new chapter in history under the strategic leadership of their leaders. China and North Korea have designated 2024 as a year of friendship, as it marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations. They plan to promote economic, cultural and other types of exchanges.
