




Among the government's initiatives aimed at benefiting the public, the issuance of Senior Citizen Identity Cards to elderly individuals eligible under the social pension program in Nay Pyi Taw, Union Territory, was carried out at the community hall of Aung Zabu Ward in Zabuthiri Township and at the Tat Twin community hall in Pyinmana Township.
The cards were distributed during field visits by the Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Soe Win.
The Union Minister and officials presented Senior Citizen Identity Cards and nutritional supplements to a total of 75 elderly individuals: 25 from Aung Zabu Ward at the Aung Zabu Ward Dhammayon in Zabuthiri Township, and 50 from Pyinmana Township including 20 from Mingala Ward and 30 from Shwe Chi Ward at the Tat Twin Dhammayon.
Elderly individuals who receive the Senior Citizen Identity Card are entitled to the benefits such as a 50% discount on train ticket fares, a minimum 50% reduction in admission fees for government-owned entertainment services, including cinemas, stage performances, musical shows, concerts, plays, painting and sculpture exhibitions, free admission to the National Museum and, upon their passing, exemption from funeral expenses, it’s reported.
