Semi Lockdown: Mandalay Released Control Order On 4th April

Mandalay Region Government has released control order on 4th April to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Amid using the lockdowns partially in Mandalay, the officials placed on semi lockdown in the region along with Thingyan Festival Period.

Temporary Chief Minister, Mandalay Region Government, Zarni Aung said “After we are placing lockdowns partially in Mandalay Region, now this changing to semi lockdown includes such as stopping Highway Bus Lines temporarily from 7th to 21st of April during Thingyan Festival. But we are implementing flow of commodities to be normal situation. Except the enterprises which are producing and selling basic foods and medicines and that need for people’s daily lives, we’ve instructed to stop other enterprises.”

There is no control the flow of commodities in waterway. But transporting passengers via waterway is controlled except boat running to and fro near ports. Oil stations will not close and banking sectors will operate regularly. He also explained about water playing permit in Mandalay Region during Thingyan Festival.

Temporary Chief Minister, Mandalay Region Government, Zarni Aung said “As the global pandemic coincidences with Thingyan festival period, playing water as previous festivals is not permitted even coconut palm pandel. We will conduct the implementations by releasing regional orders if necessary. Lockdown is not 144 and it is aimed only to control and avoid people gathering. Individual participation is important in the efforts. Disobediences will be taken actions in line with the law.”

Mandalay Region Government also instructed Mandalay Region Police Force to provide people’s security, regional peace and enterprises under no restrictions.
