






The Seed Fair 2023 is being taken place at the Institute of Agriculture in Nay Pyi Taw Pyinmana Township for the development of seed sector.
The event aims to get easily access quality seeds to farmers.
Dr Tin Htut, Deputy Minister, MoALI said "To meet the objectives of the Ministry, the seeds play a key role. There are still high demands of seeds in Myanmar. The fair is annually held and it is the 5th time. Through the exhibition, the farmers will know about the kind of seeds and the seed symptoms resilient on disease and dampness."
An official of the Ministry also explained about implementations of the Ministry for getting quality seeds for agriculture sector development.
Dr Ye Tint Tun, Director General, MoALI said "The aims of the fair is to have business matching, to know the seed production in local and importation process of the seeds for the companies and to create a large network of sufficient amount and availability of seeds that are vital for the development of agriculture sector. "
The quality seeds which are the basic need for the high yield of crops are being addressed to access easily required quantity and time.
Kyaw Wai, Farmer, Kyar Thae Ai village, Tatkone said "Farmers need to choose good quality seeds to have high yield. We will loss inputs and a cultivation time if we choose the fault strain. By holding the seed fair, we will know about good seeds and get quality seeds. So, it is beneficial for us. "
For the development of seeds production sector, not only the citizen companies but also the foreign companies have been able to invest at 100% with the recommendation of MoALI.
Kyaw Min Naing, Manager, Asia Agriculture Co., Ltd. said "There are seeds that we are currently distributing. By observing the seed fair, the farmers will get a lot of benefits. They can study the plantations in person. There are a lot of seed companies. So, it provides lot of benefits to farmers. "
The horticultural seeds, saplings, plantations and 13 booths of government departments and private companies are displayed at the fair that will be held until 11th February.
