Security Measures: MOIP Union Minister tours in Sagaing

The Sagaing Township Immigration and Population Office was damaged in an improvised bomb explosion on June 5, carried out by the so-called PDF terrorists.

On Wednesday, Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing, accompanied by officials, inspected the damaged office building. The explosion occurred while the office was processing National Registration Cards and UID numbers under the Lamin Project.

The incident resulted in injuries to local residents and staff, as well as damage to the office building, office equipment, and documents. During the inspection, the Union Minister reviewed the renovation of the building, the repair of office equipment, the condition of the injured individuals, and plans for providing assistance and ensuring the continued operation of office services.

The Union Minister instructed officials to complete the renovation work in a timely manner and emphasized the security alert. He also provided cash assistance and foodstuff to staffs. The Union Minister and party later visited the Sagaing District Office, where they met with officials to discuss the implementation of the Lamin Project and the systematic management of security measures. After receiving reports from the officials, the Union Minister coordinated the need and provided foodstuff and cash assistance.
