SEA Games Medals: Myanmar won 8th Gold Medal in Vovinam competition

Myanmar won 8th Gold Medal in Male Multiple Weapon practice of Vovinam competition held at Soc Son Stadium in Hanoi on Friday.

Myanmar also won silver medals in the Female Single Hand practice: Dragon Tiger form of the Vovinam competition, Vovinam Singles Weapon practice: Ying Yang Sword Form, the English Billiard Double event, and the 500-metre Canoeing event, and bronze medals in the 65-kg attack event of Vovinam, 48-Kilo of boxing, 52-kg of Judo competition, and 59-kg of the weightlifting competition.

Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan awarded 3,000 US dollars for gold medalists, 2,000 US dollars for silver medalists and 1,000US dollars for bronze medalists respectively.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister and party enjoyed the performance of Myanmar athletes in the Vovinam Games held at Soc Son Gymnasium in Hanoi.

The deputy minister and party also visited the Myanmar billiards and snooker tournament at Ha Dong Gymnasium in Hanoi. Currently, Myanmar is ranked seventh in the 31st SEA Games with a total of 49 medals: eight gold,15 silver and26 bronze medals.
