Samon Submersible Pump : MOALI UM inspected newly reconstructed pump

The Kintar Dam main left canal, located in Wundwin Township, Meiktila District, is scheduled to provide irrigation water for 52,070 acres of monsoon paddy and 3,494 acres of other monsoon crops this year.

Water supply has been provided since the second week of July to 42,439 acres of farmland downstream of the Samon စမုံ Submersible Pump. The additional irrigation water will be supplied to expanded cultivation areas planned within the Meiktila Plain region via the Samon Submersible Pump.

The newly reconstructed Samon Submersible Pump was inspected on July 20 by Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung, together with Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung. In addition, they met with local farmers at the meeting hall of the Thapyetaung Village Administrative Office in Myittha Township and provided guidance on selecting high-income crops for cultivation, ensuring good yields of planted crops, and taking care to prevent post-harvest losses during harvesting and storage operations, it’s reported.
