







In support of earthquake-affected communities, an event for the sale of construction materials including iron, steel, cement, and other building supplies is being held from May 12 to 18, at the Dabaung ground of Uppatasanti Pagoda, Nay Pyi Taw.
Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than, Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn, and Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council and Mayor U Than Tun Oo visited the event to provide encouragement and inspect the ongoing arrangements.
Additionally, Union Minister U Tun Ohn, Deputy Ministers U Min Min and U Kyaw Shwe Tun, and relevant officials attended a discussion forum under the theme “From Repair to Prepare”, focusing on disaster preparedness and response. During the session, Union Minister, Deputy Minister U Min Min and Director General U Khin Maung Hlaing offered further recommendations and insights to complement the discussions.
The opening ceremony for the earthquake-relief material sales event took place in the morning of May 12, attended by Deputy Minister for Commerce U Min Min, Deputy Minister for Industry U Yin Maung Nyunt, members of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, representatives from UMFCCI, Chairman of Myanmar Construction Entrepreneurs Association, Chairman of Myanmar Iron and Steel Association, and Myanmar Iron and Steel Entrepreneurs Association.
The event was formally opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The sales event for iron, steel, cement, and construction-related materials for earthquake-affected people will continue until May 18, with 74 exhibition booths representing 61 companies, offering products at affordable prices, available for direct public purchase.
