Rural Development: MCRD Union Minister inspects development works

Accompanied by relevant officials, Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Myo Zaw Thein on Wednesday inspected village development works in Ayeyawaddy Region and met with the local farmers for the emregence of systematic agricultural enterprises based on cooperative system.

At Lal Kine Village in Maubin Township, the Union Minister and party oversaw the sewing enterprise and motorcycle repair enterprise operated with the support of rural family income imporvement project, instructed officials to provide requisite assistance for the uninterrupted operation of the enterprises and encouraged the innovative ideas.

In Kyaiklat Kalay and Ywar Thar Gyi villages of Kyaiklat Township, the Union Minister and officials inspected the Solar Mini-Grid installation processes jointly implemented through proportional tripartite collaboration efforts of the government, the public, and the private sector.

Upon reports, the Union Minister gave instructions on better service provision, timely completion of the tasks, as well as necessary arrangements to ensure sufficient power supply. Upon arrival at Ma Ye Ohn Pin Su Village in MawlamyineKyun Township, the Union Minister met with the executive members and members of the Aung Naing Toe Agricultural and General Business Cooperative Association and local farmers from Ma Ye Ohn Pin Su, Yay Kyaw, Thone Eain Tan and Ma Soe Yein villages.

The Union Minister stated the current tasks undertaken to accelerate cooperative based agriculture and livestock breeding enterprises under the guidance of the head of state and underscored the benefits of the cooperative system. He instructed on awareness sharing among local residents, systematic utilization of agricultural inputs, best choices of varieties in accordance with respective climate and soil condition.

The Union Minister also coordinated requirements with the relevant officials and private entrepreneurs to fulfill the needs of local farmers. Subsequently, the Union Minister and party proceeded to the Cooperative Accounting Vocational Training Centre (Pathein) and met with staff from region, district and township cooperative departments and students. The Union Minister called for the unity and harmonization among cooperative departments, better public engagement in village development process and projects, capacity enhancement of the instructors and employment opportunity for graduates, and coordinated necessities.
