Rural Development: Efforts for development in Shan State (South)

Union Minister for Cooperative and Rural Development U Myo Zaw Thein and officials on Sunday made a tour to inspect the rural development in Shan State (South).

At the Ethnic Affairs and Vocational Training Center in Aye Thaya town, the Union Minister met with the trainees who are attending the Basic Sewing Course, conducted by Small Scale Industries Department, and encouraged to learn systematically from basic to modern sewing methods through innovation.

They then proceeded to Heya Ywama Village in Inle region of Nyaung Shwe Township. At the temporary briefing hall of the village, officials presented on the measures including the collective water distribution for 15 villages, rehabilitation of quake-hit villages, replacement of Bio Septic Tanks and construction of village entrance road.

Upon the reports, the Union Minister said it is necessary to organize the committee to maintain the water distribution system. He added that the department is implementing the Bio Septic Tank system in the villages to improve sanitation and urged all to cooperate in the efforts for preservation of the Inle Lake. Next, the Union Minister provided fund for the villages involved in the projects of Mya Sein Yaung Villages, Rural Economic Promoting Fund, and Smart Village. The Union Minister later inspected the extension of pipelines for water distribution to the villages and the spring water source.
