






Union Minister for Cooperatives and Development of Rural Areas U Hla Moe on Thursday made inspections in Nay Pyi Taw area. In Zeyarthiri Township of the area, the Union Minister inspected the rice processing plant built with the assistance from the Republic of Korea.
There, he heard reports on paddy supply, rice processing and dryer machines operation, storage, distribution and establishment of cooperative teams. In his response, pledging to provide assistance, the Union Minister called for efforts for the full capacity and long-term operation of the plant and arrangements for farmers to get easy access to the plant.
This rice processing plant in Zeyarthiri Township is running in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, using the technical and cash assistance from the Republic of Korea.
The plant can produce 20 tonnes of rice a day, dry 40 tonnes of rice per time and store 1,200 tonnes of rice. The Union Minister continued his inspection trip to another rice processing plant which can produce 20 tonnes of rice a day, heard reports and fulfilled the requirements.
