Returnees From Abroad: More Than 9,000 Myanmar National Returned From China

The Myanmar nationals continue to return from China through Muse, Laukkai and Chinshwehaw townships border gates.

The returnees have been provided with medical tests and accommodations at Lashio Education College before returning to their respective places.

They have been transported by train to respective states and regions under the arrangement by Northern Shan State COVID-19 Prevention, Control and Treatment Work Committee, in collaboration with relevant departments, well-wishers and volunteers. 

Joint Staff Officer, Operator License, Transport Coordination and Supervisory Department, Zaw Zaw Win said “ We arranged systematically for the returnees those returned from China to go back to their respective places by train since 6th May. Previously, we arranged vehicles for the returnees for transportation. The arrangements have been made in accordance with the supervision of Shan State North COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment committee in collaboration with the relevant departments and well-wishers and volunteers.”

The Myanma Railway has been transported the returnees to their respective places starting on 6th May.

Station Master, Lashio Railway Station, Hla Myint said “We have been operating the rail service for the returnees since 6th of May. We arranged carefully them for providing smooth transportation from Lashio to Mandalay. And then, relevant departments also made arrangements for them.  We have already brought back almost 10,000 returnees so far.” 

Up to now, there are 6047 males and 3626 female, a total of 9,673 returned from China have been arrived back through Muse, Laukkai and Chinshwehaw townships border gates.
