The highway bus lines are resuming their operation at Aung Mingalar Highway Bus Terminal since the 1st of June.

Aung Mingalar Highway Bus Terminal in Yangon Region is one of the transportation centers to go and back from other regions and states across the country.

To meet the health guidelines, issued by the Ministry of Health and Sports, hand washing basins were placed at the bus line gates while distributing masks and spraying disinfectant to the buses after every route finished.

Regional Administrator, Aung Mingalar Highway Bus Terminal, Aung Myint Win said “During COVID-19 period, we have been implementing the procedures to prevent and control of COVID-19. At that time, most of the highway bus lines stop operation. But on the 1st of June, almost all highway bus lines are resuming like in Magwe route, Ayeyawaddy route and so on. But the bus lines need to run in line with the instructions issued by the Ministry of Health and Sports.”

In some bus lines, each passenger has to buy 2 seats for their routes, and in that case, the bus lines reduce the ticket price.

In-Charge, Mi Ba Gone Highway Bus Line, Naing Htoo said “In buying 2 seats for the routes as passengers, we reduce the prices for them. During this period, there are only passengers who with duties and ordinary travelers are still rare.”

Despite COVID-19 outbreak, some of the people couldn’t neglect for their businesses and duties and still need to go outside.
