Resilient and Progressive Communities: Discussion on building RPC held in Taunggyi

A discussion on information and building a Resilient and Progressive Communities was held at the Taunggyi City Hall on November 24. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Committee for the Development of Resilient and Progressive Communities, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, Shan State Ministers, responsible officials from relevant departments, representatives from Taunggyi University, University of Medicine, University of Computer Studies, Technological University, Nursing Training School, Midwifery Training School, ethnic literature and cultural organizations, social associations in Taunggyi, and famous artists from films and television series produced by MRTV-4.

First, ethnic cultural groups performed a dance to the song "Let's Reach Cherry Land."

Following this, video clips produced by Myanmar Radio and Television titled "A Better Future: Rebuilding after the Severe Earthquake" and "Advancing towards the Goal" were screened.

Subsequently, the Committee Chairman, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn, delivered the opening address. He emphasized the need to be particularly cautious and discerning about the dangers of fake and false news, and to prioritize actions based on watching and listening to accurate information reports. He stated that the Government values and prioritizes youth for the future and is especially focused on promoting education. He also mentioned that a multi-party democracy general election will be held soon, and eligible citizens aged 18 and above should fulfill their civic duty by freely and voluntarily casting their votes for individuals who can contribute to the development of the country and the region.

Following this, the Union Minister presented and donated 50 sets of MRTV DTH satellite receiver kits to the Shan State Government.

Furthermore, the Union Minister and the Shan State Chief Justice conducted a lucky draw and awarded 10 sets of MRTV DTH satellite receiver kits to attendees.

Afterwards, when ethnic literature and cultural groups performed a dance to the song "A Song for Unity," the Union Minister and the State Minister for Security and Border Affairs presented honorarium cash awards to those performing groups.
