







Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin accompanied by Deputy Minister Daw Nu Mra Zan and officials on Wednesday inspected the damaged sites including temples and pagodas in Aung Myay Thazan Township of Mandalay Region.
During the inspection at Nan Myo Su Taung Pyae pagoda, the Union Minister oversaw the renovation processes of the pagodas, without damaging the original structure. The Union Minister also inspected the renovation of ancient infrastructures, Mya Nan San Kyaw Golden Palace and Mandalay Palace Moat, and instructed for timely completion of the restoration process before the rainy season, ensuring to maintain the original structure.
In the afternoon, the Union Minister together with the Mandalay Region Chief Minister inspected the cleaning of debris at Maha Muni Pagoda and instructed for long term durability of the pagoda by conducting disaster risk assessment in cooperation with experts.
They also inspected the repair works at the Ananda Pagoda, Phaya Ni Pagoda and Ayeik Ma Htwet Pagoda, and instructed to carry out the renovation tasks, maintain the original style, reusing the ancient bricks if possible.
At the State Pariyatti Sasana University (Mandalay), the Union Minister inspected the damage of convocation hall and instructed for ensuring to keep the original style in renovation processes. Then, the Union Minister and party paid homage to the presiding Sayadaw of the University and donated offertories.
