Renovation Efforts : Repair works at Wunna Theikdi Sports Complex

Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung, along with deputy ministers and senior officials, inspected earthquake damage at the Wunna Theikdi Sports Complex on Thursday. The inspection covered the football stadium, Sports Hall (C), and swimming pool facilities, which were affected by the strong earthquake on March 28 and its aftershocks.

They observed ongoing repair and safety works, including structural reinforcements, wall and beam removal, and dismantling of glass panels, doors, and windows. The Union Minister instructed officials to prioritize work safety, ensure earthquake resilience, maintain construction quality, and complete repairs as quickly as possible.

They also inspected cracked walls around the stands, damaged access roads, and broken water and power lines at the swimming pool area. The Union Minister emphasized the need to restore utilities urgently and resume the use of the swimming pool soon.
